AP Specialist (5-6 month TEMP)

Job Description

Ledgent is partnering with a long standing client looking to add an additional headcount to the team for project based assignment. This assignment is estimated to start January 2026 and go for 5-6+ months based on the workload.

Ideal candidate would have a strong understanding of the AP-cycle (Vendor Management, 1099's, W9's, etc.).

North Minneapolis (own parking lot - paid), Hybrid schedule (3x/week on-site, 2x/week remote). Compensation will vary based on experience ($25-$35/hour estimated).

Job Description:

Invoice Processing:

  • Receive, review, and enter approximately 20-30 invoices per week into the accounting system.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Ensure proper coding to general ledger accounts and cost centers.

Vendor Management:

  • Set up new vendors and maintain accurate vendor records.
  • Request and verify W-9 forms for all vendors.
  • Manage vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Assist with 1099 preparation and year-end reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and IRS regulations related to vendor documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and organized AP files and documentation.

Payments and Reconciliation:

  • Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any outstanding issues.
  • Support month-end closing activities as needed.

Requirements:

  • 2-5+ years of A/P experience
  • Understanding of ERP systems (and how they work) but okay working in a more manual environment
  • Able to commit to the duration of the contract (5-6 months estimated)
  • Excel - proficient
